Comfort of the Chevrolet Suburban

All three variants of the Suburban offer superb interiors which are typical of a Chevrolet level of luxury. The LTZ model even boasts a heated steering wheel! It features a tri-zone climate control which is manual for the LS and automatic for both the LT and LTZ and is characterized by individual climate settings for the front row and rear row passengers.

A rear seat entertainment system is available for the LT and LTZ variants, which have two overhead screens above the second and third rows for family entertainment. These come with 4 sets of wireless headphones, a remote control and input jacks. Also included are comfortable leather seats.

The LTZ and LT have a 10 and 9 speaker surround sound system respectively which includes a subwoofer central channel speaker located at the middle of the instrument channel. The LTZ also features advanced seating comfort through a 2 position driver memory, front row power recline and lumbar support.

Style & Aesthetics

The Suburban is amazingly shaped and features rugged looks that would appeal to nearly everyone. Not the traditional ‘family car’, this Chevrolet offers superior style and luxury. Additional enhancements include the sun roof and panoramic view windows that improve the already good looks of the SUV.

Safety of the SUV

Family safety is paramount and this has inspired elaborate mechanisms that have made this vehicle achieve a high level of safety. These have been divided into 3 stages which are before, during and after a crash. The mechanisms before include the anti brake system, stabili-track, traction control, daytime running lamps, the driver information centre, side blind zone alert and forward collision alert. Hopefully you’ll never need these, but safety measures during a crash are the safety cage construction of the vehicle, safety belts, front air bags, 2 stage frontal air bags, side impact air bags, passenger sensing systems and child seat latches. In the unfortunate event of a crash there are built in sensors that send help signals that enable the crash site to be located via GPS. The crash information is sent to advisors who can asses the severity of the crash which they relay to emergency services so as to ensure that correct assistance is provided while at the same time giving critical information to persons at the crash site.

Family travel is safer thanks to the above systems, and the vehicle is also equipped with turn by turn satellite navigation, assistance in the event of vehicle theft, roadside assistance, hands free calling, crisis alert, vehicle diagnostics and hands free calling.

Capability

The vehicle is powered by a 5.3 litre V8 engine and a 6 speed automatic transmission system that produces 320 horsepower and 335lb-ft of torque. This makes it capable of up to 8100 lb of towing power.

Fuel Economy and Price

This vehicle features active fuel management systems which control power by deactivating 4 of the 8 cylinders and reactivating them once on a steep road or in response to the driver’s acceleration. This can be translated to the consumption of a gallon of fuel for every 15 miles and 21 miles in the city and highway respectively. The starting price of this SUV is $44,000, which is very reasonable for an 8 / 9 passenger vehicle of this level of luxury.
