Honda has devised their new 8 passenger minivan, the Honda Odyssey 2013 with a powerful performance and cool styling and much more offerings in the technology department. The brand Honda says it all, and the new 2013 model of the Odyssey is loaded with a 3.5L V-6 engine producing a power of 248BHP at 5,700rpm. It has a five speed auto transmission and reaches 0 to 60mph in just 8.3 seconds. For a family minivan / SUV it is quite a powerful car, and delivers a fuel economy of 18MPG in the city, and 27MPG on the highway. The pricing of the vehicle ranges from $26,230 to $40,230 depending upon the model and variant you choose. It is available in five trims with ranging levels of luxury: the EX, EX-L, LX, Touring and Touring Elite. The V6 engine features Honda’s variable cylinder system which allows it to increase the fuel efficiency by cleverly switching between three, four and six cylinders. It comes with a 3 years or 36000 miles warranty, which gives added peace of mind as a family vehicle.

Modern, Stylish Interiors & Features
The interiors are gorgeous and loaded with features. It has a third row of seats that conveniently folds flat into the floor for when you need the maximum loading space in the trunk. The maximum seating capacity is eight passengers for the 2013 Honda Odyssey. It has an 8″ i-MID screen, USB audio interface, Bluetooth hands-free kit, rear-view camera and a 2-GB CD library. It has ample security and safety features such as four wheel disk anti-lock brakes, side impact and curtain airbags, an electronic stability system and traction control on all models. It also has luxury features such as dual zone automatic climate control, navigation, satellite radio, leather trim and an entertainment system. The EX-L and above models also feature a cool box to keep those drinks cool on the road.
Exterior Styling for the Honda Odyssey
The new Honda Odyssey 2013 is styled with a revised front end with shiny chrome-effect cross bars in the grille, dark headlamp surrounds and an aluminum bumper and hood. It has a responsive handling but it has to be said that steering isn’t that precise. The van’s performance can be limited in emergency situations as the tire grip isn’t the best for a vehicle of this size, but on the whole it is a secure ride. Some road noise persists in the cabin despite being quieter than previous models. The Honda Odyssey is about making family life easier when on the road, and there is nothing ‘mini’ about this modern minivan.
The Odyssey has better fuel economy, greater flexibility to configure the full eight passenger space, more cargo room and is less expensive than a higher-end luxury SUV. It is more stable than an SUV because it is lower to the ground (like all the other minivans), and it has great handling. The vehicle rides like a big sedan and admirably smooths out bumps in the road. It is definitely a driver’s car, and is a perfect family vehicle. Unlike some other more versatile SUV’s, it doesn’t feature all-wheel drive however, and so you might want to look for other makes if you are likely to have a lot of snow or rough terrain.
The handling and ride are sweet and it has vast amounts of legroom for all eight passengers. Its crash ratings are the among the best in the minivan category. The Honda V6 engine is efficient, smooth and has an excellent fuel economy. There are 5 speed and 6 speed variants but if you are after better fuel economy (and performance), then you will want to choose the 6 speed Odyssey. Overall this Honda is a great family vehicle with ample room for all 8 passengers, and various reviewers have been known to classify this car as the ‘benchmark’ for all family minivans due to its refined handling on the road.
