The GMC Acadia is instantly noticeable on the roads for its confident style and its sturdy body. However, there are many other aspects of the Acadia that make it worthwhile contender for an 8 seater car.

The 2013 GMC Acadia is a powerful and large SUV with 7 or 8 seats.
The Acadia Includes Plenty of Features & Gadgets
The features on the Acadia include the side blind zone alert system to detect traffic that can’t be easily seen from a side. In particular, it informs the driver of vehicles that are in the driver’s blind spot.
Four-wheel anti-lock brakes are included alongside an easy to maintain automatic transmission. This transmission uses six gears to take care of pretty much every driving condition.
The Rear Vision Camera is a standard feature that works well for the Acadia. It uses a full-color display to show what’s behind the car and even uses guide bars for parking or alignment.
Practicality of the GMC Acadia
The towing capacity on the Acadia makes it very practical for all kinds of applications. It can tow about 5,200 pounds of weight on any surface.
The StabiliTrak system is another practical tool worth noting even in off-road conditions. It can be used to identify wheel spins and grip issues and will stop and start brakes on certain wheels as needed. This is ideal for all kinds of tough surfaces.
The seven or eight seats on the inside (depending on the model) make the vehicle particularly practical for transporting a large family or group. The 60/40 split on the third row bench seat also makes it easier for the vehicle to transport more cargo when required. This third row specifically folds flat if you are looking for maximum luggage capacity in the back.

The leather trim version of the GMC Acadia offers an excellent feel and stylish looks.
Engine and Fuel Economy
The Acadia uses a 3.6L V6 engine with six gears and an optional all wheel drive feature. The vehicle has a fuel economy of 17 mpg on city roads and 24 mpg on the highway. These totals are cut by one each when the AWD option is used.
The Pro’s and Con’s of the Acadia
One of many plus points regarding this vehicle include a series of LED daytime lamps with halogen lights that work brilliantly in foggy weather. The 18 or 19-inch wheels are also pretty hefty and easy to spot. The inside of the vehicle is also well-insulated and will not let in an excessive amount of noise or heat. The Bluetooth system is also impressive because it links up with just about any supported device.
However, the Acadia also tends to have a tough time in terms of fuel consumption as it does not have that many fuel-saving features incorporated into it. Also, the cloth seats tend to be a bit rough around the edges. It’s recommended to go for the more expensive leather seating version for the maximum quality of interior.
Purchase Price
The Acadia is available for as little as $34,000 but is available in a variety of trims up to around $41,000. The AWD, tri-zone climate control and ten speaker audio system are all optional extras on certain models. There’s also the option to add a rear DVD system but it will cost about a thousand dollars for the entertainment system.
